ETH Denver: History & Tradition
ETHDenver, not just an event but a festival that transforms the city into a canvas of blockchain dreams and Web3 wonders every year. This is where the heart of Ethereum beats the loudest, uniting developers, thinkers, and creators in a celebration unmatched in the digital domain.
History
EthDenver was initially conceived in 2015 when John Paller, the co-founder of ETHDenver was exploring ideas for new ventures. It was during this time that he met Dmitry Buterin, the father of Vitalik, and a bond formed not only with Dmitry but also with Vitalik. Concurrently, Paller's fascination with Ethereum and web3 started to deepen. This period also saw a rapidly expanding meet-up culture in Denver.
First ETH Denver
The First ETH Denver was held in 2018, from Feb 16-18 , at the Sports Castle, Denver. It was a landmark occasion, that saw over 88 judges and speakers from the blockchain sphere. Notable participants included Joseph Lubin, founder of ConsenSys; Dmitry Buterin, founder of BlockGeeks; Leonard Tan from the Ethereum Foundation; and Elena Sinelnikova, founder of CryptoChicks and a serial entrepreneur. This diverse lineup underscored ETHDenver's significance as a pivotal gathering for thought leaders and innovators in the Ethereum and broader blockchain community.

The first ETHDenver was sponsored by Web3 titans like Blockgeeks, Ox Protocol, Brave, Aragon, Ledger, Gitcoin, Open Zepplin, Metamask, Polychain Capital, Compound, Datum etc. The backing of these giants for the first ETHDenver sent a strong message about the collaborative and forward-thinking nature of the blockchain community. Their involvement laid the groundwork for what has become a landmark event in the Web3 calendar
